Joanna,
a young wife and mother, moves from Manhattan to the
upper-class suburb of Stepford, Connecticut. Once there,
she makes friends with bombastic Bobbie Markowitz. Together
they find out, much to their horror, that all the housewives
are strangely blissful, and somehow... doomed. |
The
only movie about female robots and it doesn't star
top robotic actress Penelope Cruz. (Yeah I know Blade
Runner, so don't e me!)
The
original 1975 Bryan Forbes movie was made just as
the feminist revolution was getting into full swing
in the States. So the film was seen as man's revenge
on these uppity women. Both movies are based on the
novel by 'Rosemary's Baby' author, Ira Levin. I'm looking
forward to this creepy little tale - and it does star
the immensely creepy and menacing Christopher Walken.
Though rumors of set sheananigans between the "watch
up his ass guy" and a certain 'Wings Beneth Her
Feet' female star should be taken as promising.
