Jim
Carrey is Bruce Nolan... a 'human interest' television
reporter in Buffalo, New York who is definitely your
basic 'glass half spilled' guy. Insanely discontented
with almost everything in life - he does, in fact, have
everything going for him! He's popular, and has the
love of a perfect girlfriend Grace (Jennifer Aniston).
At the end of the worst day in his life, Bruce angrily
ridicules and rages against God and God responds.
He appears in human form (Morgan Freeman) and, endowing
Bruce with all of His divine powers, challenges Bruce
to take on the big job and see if he can do it any better. |
The
God of 'physical in your face' comedy schtick actually
gets to play God for a week. How popping is that?
And on the first day, God said "LET THERE BE LAUGHS"
- and there were laughs. Have to admit, this 'concept'
sounds very very funny. The trailer looks awesome. More
like the early Liar Liar Carrey we've grown to laugh
out loud at - as opposed to the 'actor' Carrey who sucked
el biggo time in the utterly dreadful 'The Majestic'.
Go Bruce. |
