Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston will star as super-parents in "Sky High," a teen comedy set in a world where superheroes are an everyday occurrence. A sort of Gen X-Men.
They will play Commander Stronghold and Josie Jetstream, respectively, the parents of a boy attending a high school for superpowered teens. Michael Angarano already has been cast as their son, a possible future hero.

Mike Mitchell is directing the Walt Disney Pictures project, which has a start date of Aug. 20 in Los Angeles.

Early in his career, Russell starred in such Disney fare as 1969's "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" and 1971's "The Barefoot Executive." He returned to the studio this year when he starred in "Miracle."

Preston's recent credits include "Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat" and "What a Girl Wants." She next appears in "Eulogy" and "Return to Sender.
