SEDGWICK BRINGS HOME THE BACON IN PAEDOPHILIA DRAMA

Actor husband-and-wife team Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are set to star in a paedophilia drama. Joining them are rapper-actress Eve, Benjamin Bratt and comedian David Alan Grier.

'The Woodsman' concerns a man (Bacon) who returns to his hometown after 12 years in prison and tries to start a new life working at a power plant. He struggles with past demons but resists the temptations, proving to himself that he's cured of the condition -- paedophilia -- that plagued him for years.

(Though the hard fact is, all studies have show that paedophiles are utterly incapable of reform. They invariably return to their behaviours because they refuse to admit what they do is wrong.)

Bacon finds a job at a power plant -- run by Grier's character -- and even begins dating a woman who works there (Sedgwick). But when the boss' secretary (Eve) uncovers his secret and exposes it, his world begins to crumble once again. Bratt will portray his brother-in-law; Michael Shannon will play a counsellor to Bacon's character.

Production begins this month in Philadelphia; rookie filmmaker Nicole Kassell will direct from her own script.

The project comes from Lee Daniels Entertainment, the production company behind the Oscar-winning 'Monster's Ball'.

Bacon and Sedgwick last starred together in the 1995 drama 'Murder in the First'. Eve's credits include 'Barbershop' and possibly the upcoming sequel. Bratt was last in cinemas with 'Abandon'.
